Extract from the Presidency Conclusions of the Brussels European Council, Brussels 17.12.2005 |

|
The European Council welcomes the Commission's Opinion on the Republic of Macedonia's application for EU membership. It welcomes the significant progress made by the Republic of Macedonia towards meeting the political criteria set by the Copenhagen European Council in 1993 and the Stabilisation and Association Process requirements established by the Council in 1997.
In the light of the Commission's analysis, the European Council decides to grant candidate country status to the Republic of Macedonia, taking into account, in particular, the substantial progress made in completing the legislative framework related to the Ohrid Framework Agreement, as well as its track record in implementing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (including its trade-related provisions) since 2001.
The European Council makes clear that further steps will have to be considered in the light of the debate on the enlargement strategy, as provided for by the Council conclusions of 12 December 2005; of compliance by the Republic of Macedonia with the Copenhagen political criteria; of the requirements of the Stabilisation and Association Process and the effective implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement; and of the need for further significant progress to respond to the other issues and criteria for membership included in the Commission's Opinion and implementation of the priorities in the European Partnership, on the basis of specific benchmarks. The absorption capacity of the Union also has to be taken into account. The European Council invites the Commission to report on developments in future progress reports.

Europe at School |

|
Our present is marked with many deep changes. The mutual growth of the East and the West, the European Union's extending, the intensive science and technological development as well as the effects from the globalization strongly affect our every-day life. The European nations must enlarge and united their efforts in order to ensure democratic and political order, to respect human and civil rights, to secure social solidarity, to extend well being that further on will result with assurance of the peace.
We believe that the right step forward to the European idea is the encouragement of the youngest people to think in this direction and to build their system of values on this basis. For this to be accomplished in a way that will not limit their freedom of thinking we have implemented the project Europe at School in our educational system. More... |

Campaign "One colour makes a TEAM, two colours make the GAME" |
|

|
With the help of FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) our organisation have support the FARE action week 2004 that lasted from 16 th till 24 th October.
Our activity was consisting of handing flyers to the football fans on several matches around Macedonia . The text on the flyers was that "One colour makes a TEAM, two colours make the GAME; Love the game, respect the colours" laid on symbolic design.
More..
During our preparation for this activity we were contacting The Macedonian Football Federation and we have realised that we are responding on very popular problem these days.
Actually, many matches are played without spectators as a punishment for the bad behaviour of the football fans coming from different ethnic groups.
A great deal of the printed leaflets was given by 4 of us, and we have organised dealing the leaflets on several matches.
On one match we have dealt the leaflets by ourselves and on the others we have made contacts with the box offices, with the help of Macedonian Football Federation, and they were giving flyers with every sold ticket for the matches during the weekend.
While giving the fliers many of the visitors were saying, "Well done" to us and really appreciate that someone is doing something for the sake of the football game. The police officers present on the football match have commend us that the message on the leaflet is really creative and can not raise any negative reaction, but it can really positively influenced on the mood of the football fans. The football players and the workers on the football stadium have showed us their gratitude for what we were doing. They have told us that this is a first time for someone to make something to safe the good atmosphere on the football stadiums.
The match went on fine and we were really satisfied when we have noticed that after the game the flour was clean, no one have thrown the fliers away as it usually happens.
Having realized that activity of this kind is necessary not just for Macedonian football but for Macedonia in general, as football have become non dividable part of our everyday lives, we are making an effort to expend the campaign on many matches with different promotional methods.
We are hoping that Macedonians institutions will help us to realize this idea.
